Capt. Seppo Vesterinen, Marine Consultant Capt. Seppo joined the company as a Marine Consultant and has performed Pre-purchase and Condition Surveys, Project Cargo trans-shipments, Damage Surveys, P&I and Underwriters’ claims investigations for oil cargoes and bunker disputes, Tank Cleaning Advisory and Pre-vetting inspections, Owners' representative and On/Off-Hire surveys.
His sea going career has spanned more than 28 years mostly with Thome Ship Management Pte Ltd, Singapore, where he served as Master, on a variety of Product Carriers and VLCCs. He was heavily involved with implementation and review of Company ISM and ISPS policies onboard vessels newly acquired for management. He has considerable Ship to Ship transfer experience onboard VLCC-class oil tankers, trading worldwide.
Served as Second and Chief Officer with Sanko Marine Ltd., Japan, on crude oil tankers trading worldwide. He was briefly seconded to Wakefield Marine Pte Ltd, Yokohama, to conduct P&I surveys, Hold Cleanliness, Cargo securing & Load-out inspections, Quantity and Quality surveys.
He has Finnish Master Mariner’s Certificate with no limitations. Has attended GMDSS GOC, Dangerous Cargo Endorsements, Advanced Fire Fighting, Ship maneuvering simulator- VLCC, Petroleum Tanker Safety, OPA 90- Pollution Response, ISM Code safety Training, PSC & Vetting inspections, Ship Security Officer.
