Dr. Mike Mitchell, Director
Mike Mitchell has been working in all several diverse areas of the marine industry for the past forty years.
Mike sailed as a marine engineer in all ranks from Junior to Chief Engineer with a variety of shipping companies in the UK, New Zealand and Australia.
After sailing for a period of 12 years Mike worked as a Marine Superintendent rising from Assistant Technical Manager to General Manager of a shipping company, he was a marine consultant to a major ship constructor, then as operations manager of a class society before becoming a marine consultant with MBS-Consultants Pte. Ltd.
He had been engaged in Marine Consultancy with various organisations, specialising in Risk Assessment, Engineering Evaluations and Performance Monitoring of ship’s propulsion systems. His other experiences included Pre-purchase and Condition Surveys, Project Cargo trans-shipments, P&I and Underwriters’ Claims Investigations, including the gathering and preparation of evidence as an Expert Witness, Flag State Inspections and Construction Supervision of new-buildings.
Mike has a Ph.D and a Masters degree in Engineering Science. He attended an Advanced Management Training Program at the Australian Administrative Staff College and has a First Class foreign going combined engineering certificate. He is a member of several professional bodies.
