Bjorn Claeys, Marine Consultant
Bjorn Claeys joined us last year. He is mostly involved with Pre-purchase Condition Surveys and IMCA Audits.
He has worked mainly in South and Central America and was General Manager of Venezuela Feeder Maritime, involved in all aspects of ship-management, cargo and chartering. As Terminal Manager for Sargeant Petroleum Ltd., in Dominican Republic, he handled various projects, from tank rebuilding to scrap management and was also Operation Manager for Caribbean Asphalt Corp S.A.
He sailed for Exmar NV vessels from Apprentice till 2nd Mate. He has experience on Oil/Product, LNG and LPG tankers and OBO’s.
He completed his Degree in Nautical Sciences at Nautical College, Antwerp, Belgium and has attended various courses on Crisis & Crowd Management, IMO COW & IG, Petroleum, Liquefied Gas, Chemical and Tanker Terminal Safety Courses and Dangerous Cargo Endorsements.
